New Game: Four Demons

By Sockwave

Hey guys, I've finally finished my first real game using actual animations. It's called Four Demons and you can find it here. In the game, you control four demons who are trying to find their way out hell after learning that they've received a pardon. The graphics are 100% made using Javascript with WASP. Enjoy!
Generic Platform Makeover

By Sockwave

The Generic Platform demo has been given a graphics makeover using the WASP tool. It's still the same terrible game, but now it's all shiny. These graphics (animation and all) took less than two hours in WASP, but the final look is pretty slick.

On an unrelated note, I completely forgot to mention that the page has moved to www.canvaswave.com. All old links will redirect you here.

WASP beta release

By Sockwave

All right, the beta version of my animation script, WASP, is finally ready. The script makes drawings and animations that can be used for games and cartoons. It was a lot of work but it looks like it's completely functional, if not totally user friendly. There is one major known bug which is that you cannot insert images on Safari or Opera, although animations with images play in all browsers. Enjoy the beta version and let me know if there are any bugs.
WASP Pre-release

By Sockwave

I think I mentioned something about a graphical utility I was working on, and it's kind of taking forever. I want to make a little animation program, but it turns out those things are hard or something? Who knew. Here's a pre-release of the tool that you can play with for now. At the moment, it doesn't do animation but it is a functional vector drawing program. It has no function except making pretty pictures. Enjoy.
New Demo - Generic Platform

By Sockwave

I've added a simple little platformer engine to my basic game engine to make a very simple little game. It's roughly Mario Bros level, but it has a little level editor attached. I'll try to use the engine to make a real game once I finish up some graphics things I'm working on.
New Demo - Too Many Balls

By Sockwave

I wrote a new demo to test out a better form of framerate control with my prototype game engine. Its based on ideas from here. Its not a game but its a good demo of how to manage a lot of graphical elements. Feel free to play with it and look at the source code.
Games posted

By sockwave

The first two games have been put in the sidebar. These are Neon Fighter and Mao levels 1-3. Neon Fighter is a simple space shooter arcade game and Mao is a half-finished puzzle game. You'll have to use the links in the sidebar until the games page is built. Enjoy.
Welcome

By sockwave

Welcome the Weigolabs Games, a new website dedicated to working on gaming projects using the new HTML5 canvas element. I will be posting games here as well as various javascript utilities for use in making games. Feel free to take a look around. I recommend getting the latest version of a Canvas enabled browser (as in, not IE 6/7/8) for playing the games. Google Chrome especially does an excellent job rendering Canvas programs at high speed.
